What is Sensory Baby Massage?

Sensory Baby Massage is a calm and relaxing class where the parent learns a series of massage strokes to use on baby, using organic sunflower oil. There are sensory lights and music throughout the session to keep baby mesmerised too.

The class builds up week on week, so we start with chest, tummy and legs and then add on other areas of the body. In the final week, baby will receive a full body massage.

What are the benefits of baby massage?

  • Increased relaxation and improved sleep
  • Develops the early parent and baby bond
  • Can help alleviate many baby ailments including trapped wind, colic and constipation
  • Gets baby used to positive touch
  • Helps baby feel loved, respected and valued from a very early age
  • Aids speech and language development
  • Offers an opportunity for parents to relax, share experiences and make friends

Included in the session, there is also a sensory activity including ‘tickles with pompoms’, bubbles and light up wands, to give baby the ultimate Sensory Massage experience. Suitable from birth until crawling. We do not use oil with baby until 4 weeks old.

Classes run term time only on:

Friday mornings @ 10.45am at Brazley Community Centre

Classes will start Friday 8th September

What is Sensory Baby Moga?

Sensory Baby Moga was developed as an add on to baby massage. From approximately 4 months, some babies become restless and less inclined to lie and be massaged. So we created Baby Moga, which is a mix of Baby Massage and Baby Yoga. We massage different areas of the body and incorporate Baby Yoga Part 1 (see Baby Yoga page). There are lots of songs and nursery rhymes in this session mixed in with sensory activities to keep the older baby entertained. Many younger babies from 8 weeks also enjoy this class too. This class has no workout for Parents.

Once again baby is treated to light shows, bubbles, fun music and songs to create a fantastic sensory experience.

Suitable from approximately 8 weeks old to walking.

Currently there are no Baby Moga classes available

Please note: Babies should not take part in Baby Massage or Baby Moga if they are ill or have had their immunisations within the past 24 hours.

“We love Yoga Bunnies. My girls have been coming since they were 12 weeks old. They first started doing baby massage and have since moved on to baby moga. The classes are fun for both the babies and the parents. We go to the Wednesday group at Alexandra Brookes Pilates Studio. I have made lots of mummy friends. It can be difficult to make friends once you have a baby, so it was lovely that there is a cafe underneath where you can have a coffee and a cheeky cake. Highly recommend!”
